Matte Brown Alligator and French Chevre Moleskine Cover

Matte Brown Alligator and French Chevre Moleskine Cover

Posted by Michael Stricklin on

Sometimes, you just have to make something for yourself. I keep all of my ideas, sketches, and notes in a moleskine journal. It's a habit I picked up in architecture school, and one that has followed me since.  I always use the same size, and it was finally time to create a cover for it.

This piece is made from a 54 cm wide brown matte alligator skin from American Tanning, with marine blue French chevre for the interior. The journal cover features a padded closure and strap to ehance the look and durability. The entire cover is hand-stitched with waxed linen thread, and the edges are protected with multiple layers of durable edge paint, sanded and polished to a smooth finished. In hindsight, the strap should be 1/2" longer, but it still stays put and works as intended to keep the journal closed. The interior features two full size pockets, and one small pocket for papers on the left.

This cover is available on a made-to-order basis. Different color and leather options are available.
