100% Made in the Southeast: Amos in Vidalia Mills Indigo / Black
A Note from Michael Stricklin
When I first heard Vidalia Mills was closing, I was gutted. Our big return to denim this year was built around an ethos: 100% American made, right down to the fabric. That’s no small feat, as most of the fabrics we work with come from England, Japan, or Italy. We love our suppliers from around the world, but supporting what is made here is also incredibly important to our brand and always has been. In the U.S., there are only a handful of mills making fabric, and as far as we now, now none are weaving selvedge denim at scale, or at all.
What drew me in was one particular cloth: a deep indigo denim with black warp threads instead of the usual white. That little change transforms everything. It gives the fabric a richness that breaks in beautifully, fading into layered blues, with high-contrast wear patterns that are completely unique to you.
But here’s the catch: Vidalia is closed its doors this past spring, and when our supplier runs out of this denim in the coming months, that’s it. No restocks, no second chances. This was, in my opinion, Vidalia’s finest denim.
So we made something special with it: a limited edition Amos Chore Coat. Not only is this piece 100% made in the USA, it's 100% made in the Southeast, a unique story that is rarely woven these days.
* Denim – Louisiana
* Thread – North Carolina
* Hardware – Kentucky
* Labor – Nashville, Tennessee
We’ll only be able to make about 100 of these. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
All Indigo/ Black Amos Chore Coats are made to order in our Nashville, TN workshop.
