Mid Century Modern Chair Project

Posted by Michael Stricklin on

On Friday, @slolley and I visited our favorite local antique store 15 minutes before they closed. We rushed through the aisles and she found this mid-century modern chair, our favorite era of furniture and design. Within five minutes, we were loading it into the car. It had been shellacked and had horrible tan pleather on it. Sunday @slolley sanded it down by hand while I reupholstered it in some beautiful Horween cowhide. After gluing a few joints back together, we oiled it up, finishing with our own beeswax/oil mixture and put it in the living room.

Needless to say, we're really starting to enjoy venturing into upholstery and bringing old piece back to new life.
